General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Anything that puts pressure on or irritates this nerve can cause pain.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-pain relievers such as acetaminophen, aspirin, or NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, ketoprofen, or naproxen
-muscle relaxants to ease muscle spasms
-Antidepressants for chronic low back pain
-steroid medication is injected into the space around the spinal nerve.
-bed rest is not recommended as a mainstay treatment.
-physical therapy. The proper exercises may actually help reduce sciatic pain.
-Acupuncture
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
