Hi!
Based on the history given you have developed recurrent painful condition of the elbow (
tennis elbow or lateral
epicondylitis) apparently triggered by lifting heavy objects.
First and foremost is give your arm proper rest. You will have to stop lifting heavy objects or heavy work activities for several weeks.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen reduce pain and swelling can be taken in dose of 200 to 400 mg orally three times daily along with Rantac tablet to prevent the harmful effects of Ibuprofen like
heartburn, stomach pain, gastritis or
stomach ulcer.
You are also advised to have specific exercises for strengthening the muscles of the forearm. Your therapist may also perform
ultrasound, ice massage, or muscle-stimulating techniques to improve muscle healing.
Using a brace centered over the back of your forearm may also help relieve symptoms of tennis elbow by resting the muscles and tendons.
If pain recurs again you may need to take steroid injections such as cortisone into your damaged muscle to relieve your symptoms.
If your symptoms do not respond even after 6 to 12 months of the above treatments, your may need to undergo surgery.
Hope the advice given would be useful.
