How Can Pancreatitis Be Treated?

Hello i have had pancreatitis resulting from injury in a car wreck and i also was a heavy drinker before. It has been several months since this incident. I fasted for a week and after that ate only soup for about 2 months and slowly introduced foods into my diet to where i eat a total of 25 grams of fat. I have been to two doctors for pain but they say my pancreas levels are fine. But the pain lingers with me in the upper left abdomen more mild than my attack but constant no matter what i eat or drink i cant afford a specialist and am uninsured i dont know how to fix my body right now.

Hello,

Pancreatitis is divided into acute and chronic. We need to find the cause and rule out carcinoma. Alcohol is an important cause. The treatment is usually supportive with fluids. Surgery is done to obstruct causes only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita
