I recently had a bout of pancreatitis following an ercp, removal of stones obstructing bile ducts, and removal of gallbladder which contained numerous stones and sludge. I was told that the ercp procedure often results in pancreatitis_I am assuming due to the irritation the procedure may cause to the pancreas. I felt like I had another pancreatitis attack 3 weeks later-severe, sudden pain boring through to the back, shaking, sweating, profuse vomiting for hours and too weak to do anything for next two days. Should I expect to have repeated episodes like this?
