How Can Periods Be Postponed?

Dear Doctor, I am a 25 year old married woman. I am going through a PCOD treatment but missed my regular medicine course for this month due to travelling and other work related stuff. I had my last periods on 26th of March but it got delayed this time. I am not taking any medicines for now. Because I want to postpone my periods as we have some mandatory Pooja and rituals at home. Today, at the 37th day, can I start Regestrone? If yes, what will be the dosage and till how long will it be safe to take? Please suggest

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I read your text and got to know about your PCOD and this irregular menses is because of that what you are doing.

First, you can start hormone therapy containing estradiol and progesterone combination daily for 21 days and then stop for 7 days and do 3 cycles like that. Also, if you are obese take Metformin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ruby
