I had a Total Left Hip replacement this past June 20th. For the first Three (3) weeks of home PT, I was doing fine. Please note: I ve had in the past Two lower back operations and have a very bad lower back. I am now experiencing EXTREME burning on the top of BOTH feed into the top portion of my lower leg. I m told it is neuropathy. What can I do. I just had two MRI s and an epidural injection Two (2) days ago. Felt GREAT since this past Thursday, until this morning when the pain woke me up. Suggestions/Help, Thank you, T. Hafner
This indicates peripheral neuropathy which is a result of damage to your peripheral nerves, often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet. It can also affect other areas of your body. Treatment actually depends on the right cause. Most common causes are diabetes, alcoholism, inherited disorders or trauma and medications however, many other causes may be seen so tests are required to identify the right one. Till that you can do some general remedies: Avoid factors that may cause nerve damage, including repetitive motions, cramped positions, exposure to toxic chemicals, smoking and overindulging in alcohol. Also take vitamin D supplements and regulate blood sugar levels. Wish you a good health.
