How Can Peripheral Neuropathy Be Treated?

My email address is YYYY@YYYY . I have periferal neuropathy for 35 years and have been to 12 doctors in that time(neurologists) My current neurologist is at St Luke/Mt Sinai) in Manhattan, After trying everydrug in high doses from the beginning I have just gotten worse and he suggested I try medical marijuana but he does not do that buy he thinks I should find someone and he would send my records. Do you think it could help and do you know anyone on Long Island or Manhattan that does that? Thanks for help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello welcome to the health care magic

You have peripheral neuropathy since long time

Cause for that should be ruled out and accordingly treatment given.

Kindly mention which investigations has been done until now.

Check your serum B12 level and random blood sugar level to rule out megaloblastic anemia and diabetes.

If needed EMG and NCV study done.

Rule out kidney and Liver involving systemic disease like by serum sgpt, sgot, serum urea, creatinine etc.

Hope this will help you
