How Can Persistent Cough Be Treated?

Hello. I have a cough that has been going on for about a month now. It started as bronchitis, I believe, but has been lingering ever since. Sometimes I get a little bit of mucus with it, but it s rare and never much. I ve tried Mucinex and OTC cough syrups. Wondering when/how to expect some relief.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A cough having a duration of more than two weeks should be investigated further with a digital chest x-ray. It can be chronic bronchitis or an allergic cough. It's advisable to check your eosinophil count through CBC as well.

For that antihistaminic drug can be prescribed for a few days. Take one tsp turmeric powder with milk daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
