Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a persistent cough that originates from my throat area. I am not sick at all and it has been happening for almost a year or so now. When I cough, I seems to clear a blockage of some sort. I have an appt. set with an ENT for February 6 but I just looking to see if I can get any ideas on what it could be.

How Can Persistent Cough Be Treated?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic cough. I suggest you do an allergy test to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, stay hydrated and use over-the-counter cough suppressants. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
