How Can Persistent Coughing, Which Worsens In The Evening, Be Treated?
my son is been coughing for 6 days and i try over the counter medicine such as robitussin for 4 days and i try zyrtec for two days. What should i do about it ? He comes home from school still coughing and after 6pm the coughing start to get worst, but i am concern about that and i will take to the doctor on saturday
Over the counter medications are not advisable at all. If there is any respiratory infection then right antibiotic for it will be helpful. Over the counter medications without consulting a doctor will not help. Most of the time they backfire by developing antibiotic resistance .There are two kinds of cough syrup. One for suppressing cough and the other one to bring out the phlegm. Only a doctor can say which one will be a suitable after auscultating your sons chest.
