How Can Persistent Itching Sensation Be Treated After Taking A Prolia Injection?

I had a Prolia injection back in October & I ve noticed a problem with itching & dry skin from time to time. Now it seems like it s attacking with a vengeance, but the itching seems to be confined to the mid area of the body, the stomach, mid section & especially the back. At times, experiencing chills & a burning sensation to skin. Is the reason it started, went away & come back, because Prolia is time released? And what to do to relieve the itching? Anti-itch cream is only relief for a short time & benadryl doesn t seem to be helping much either. What to do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to allergic reaction.

As a first line management you can try antihistamines like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
