Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Pinworm infestation is quite common in pediatric population. You don't need to worry and you can easily manage this condition by the following:-
1.You can give single dosage of over the counter drugs "albendazole" or mebandazole to your kid. This can sometimes be repeated a week later or, if infection persists, the medication is given again three weeks later.
2.If the problem persist you can use the alternate drugs like
Pyrantel pamoate (PinRid) or
ivermectin.
You can try the following preventive measures:-
1,Maintain good personal hygiene. Wash your hands with soap and warm water after using the toilet.
2. Avoid scratching the anal area. Trim your child's fingernails and discourage nail biting.
To sterilize the surface,do the following:-
1.Wash bedsheets, nightclothes, underwear in hot water,It will help to kill pinworm eggs. Dry on high heat.
2.Change underwear and bed linen daily.
Hope I have answered your query.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
