Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have polycystic Kidney diseases. I am out of town and went for a jog. Now I have red blood in my urine. I have had blood in urine before, but not this red. I don t feel any pain. Do I need to seek immediate medical attention, or is it something I can wait to see my urologist/nephrologist back home?
If your polycystic kidney disease is causing pressure on the remaining renal paranchyema, and causing hematuria, it is imperative that you get yourself treated by a Urologist at the earliest. Otherwise more damage to the remaining kidney tissue can take place. During the surgery, the Urologist will incise all the cysts, and let out the fluid, so that the pressure on the kidney tissues will reduce causing no further damage.
