How Can Poor Appetite And Indigestion In An Infant Be Treated?
My baby is 14 months old. His weight is about 1.5 kg. He doesn t eat sufficient food (solid liquid both). He hardly drinks 1/2 glass of cow milk for a whole day. Beside this he drinks mother milk at morning and night. His stool test shows plenty of undigested particles. For that we are giving neopetine 10 drops twice a day. What could be the problem and how can I find the solution. Please suggest.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your child weighing 1.5 kg which is very less weight for a 14-month-old and is a matter of concern. You should consult a pediatrician as soon as possible and get him tested. There is a chance that he is suffering from some digestive disorder and needs thorough investigation.
It is also possible that he has lactose intolerance and therefore isn't able to digest milk. In that case, he may have to be switched to soy milk supplements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.amman
