Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI I m in week 9 of what I thought was the common winter cold - i hear the breath moving through mucus in my throat on the out breath, i am really tired. I m understanding I have a viral bronchitis and sinusitis. I m taking olive leaf , zinc, probiotics, and most recently oil of oregano. do you have any helpful suggestions to finalise this illness?
I think the only suggestion is to check out with your primary doctor in order to rule out pneumonia. Usually, viral bronchitis might last 4 weeks, but in your case, you've been suffering since 9 weeks now. You need to run X-ray studies and physical examination to determine the right diagnosis. To me, you need prescription medications. For the moment, I can only advise to : - Run aerosoltherapy with beclometasone and physiologic - Apply nasal spray - Apply cold balm at bedtime at night - Take paracetamol or ibuprofen - Gargle with warm water and soap - Take mucolytics But most important is to consult with your primary.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
