How Can Prolonged Jaw Pain Under The Left Ear Be Treated?
For about two weeks I feel swelling jaw pain under ear behind my jaw I took antibiotics the pain is still can you tell me what'll domsatallah@ I have a painful and swallowing jaw for two weeks under my left ear and the antibiotic didn't eliminate the pain but eleminate some of swallowing what do you recommend
As per your complain pain in jaw under the ear can be related to a few common causes:
1.It can be due to inflamed gum flap over the wisdom tooth that can lead to swelling and pain under the ear region..
2. Can be due to swollen lymph nodes secondary to Infection in oro-pharyngeal region..
3.It can also be due to ear or salivary gland rated Infection..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
As of now a course of higher antibiotics like Augmentin and anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil or Aleve along with cool compresses over the swelling can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
