How Can Pulmonary Embolism Be Treated?

My sister is 80 and has had a previous Pulominary Embolism (4 years ago) and had had a stroke where the arteries in the back of head were affected (right totally blocked, left 60% blocked). She is taking Plavix only. Is it advisable for her to have a nuclear stress test to evaluate her heart under these conditions?
