How Can Pulse-rate And Blood Pressure Be Regularized?
My father is 88 years of age and currently has a normal BP but his pulse rate is currently 93. He recently went to see his GP last week because his BP was high and the GP pescribed an additional BP tablet to take in the evening which has brought his BP down. However, my father is concerned that his pulse rate if 93? (He has been under some stress lately).
Hi, Thanks for asking. Looking at the clinical history and the medications, my opinion is as follows: 1. Normal puse is between 60-100. The pulse is within normal limits. However, if you want to reduce further, then stress and anxiety needs to be reduced. 2. Blood pressure at this age should be maintained within normal limits as risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and thrombus induced damage. Additional medication, if necessary should be taken.
