How Can Recurrent UTI Be Treated?

Hello Sir, My mom is of around 63 years.She got problem of UTI in Month of May this year she has treated for the same then it recurres in June again. The Urine is also accompanied by blood.She has been treated for the same with antiobatics and injections then after that in August bleeding like mensurational cycle stated.At that time doctor prescribed for Ultra Sound the results stated were 15 mm thickness endometrial.now we are waiting for biopsy results.I m very much worried.Pl. suggest.Thanks

Hello, thanks for asking on healthcaremagic. It seems like your mother has post menopausal bleeding and ultrasound report suggested endometrial hyperplasia. A biopsy in such cases is essential to see whether you have simple hyperplasia or complex and whether you have any cellular and nuclear atypia in it. Endometrial hyperplasia is a pre malignant condition where chances of progression to malignancy is higher in case atypia is there than without atypia. Treatment will depend upon the report of the biopsy. In case of recurrent UTI, get her tested for serum glucose as diabetics have an increased predisposition to UTIs, keep her well hydrated and encourage loose clothes. Hope I helped. Thanks.
