Hi,
Tinnitus is common issue and most causes are benign and temporary. However, this lasts for a longer period then it should be evaluated.
Tinnitus can occur due to causes like chronic
ear infection,
perforated eardrum,
Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders,
Acoustic Neuroma, etc.
Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but it is a symptom that indicates that there is some underlying illness.
I would suggest you consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, X-Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti-
anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
