How Can Recurring Typhoid Infection Be Treated?

Doctors, please I was diagnosed of having typhoid fever on the 14th of October 2016 and I was given cipro through intravenous. I feel better than yesterday. The typhoid has been reoccurring for about 25 years now. Doctors, can typhoid fever be cured completely?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Typhoid fever generally needs ten to fifteen days of antibiotics. With this, it is most of the times cured. However, a few times the infection may get a carrier state that may need one-month treatment however variety state does not cause symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
