How Can Red Spots On The Forearm Be Treated?

Two red spots about the diameter of a pencil eraser and looking like blood under the skin have appeared on my left forearm. I don;t believe they are from an injury. This is the second time spots like this appeared. The last time, each was about the diameter of a dime. They eventually faded over about a two week period. I am concerned as I don;t know what s causing them.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history, you are having a purpuric rash. My treatment advice is :

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
