How Can Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Be Treated?

Hi, I have a very painful coindition known as RSD/CRPS. I have had it for thirteen years now and today I learned something that I am very concerned about: I was informed by my pharmacist that the vicodin I take is being discontinued by the the manufacturer, Boca, and that I would be switched from the sub-shaped one I currently use, to a round pill from another manufacturer. Will this be the same medication? I literally scream in pain each day as this condition is rated the most painful condition known to man; it scares me to think that my meds will no longer provide the relief I so desperately need each day. This happened once before when I was switched to Norco. It did not work at all!

Good Evening,
Thanks for given information,According to history disease and present situation I can suggest you some medicine might helpful for pain symptoms
For constant pain associated with inflammation:
naproxen
For constant pain not caused by inflammation:
tramadol
For constant pain or spontaneous (paroxysmal) jabs and sleep disturbances;
Anti-depressants amitriptyline

For localized pain related to nerve injury.
Capsaicin cream. (This medication is applied to the skin and behaves like hot peppers. The effectiveness of capsaicin cream in the treatment of RSD / CRPS has not been determined). 24
Physical and Occupational Therapy:

you need to be educated on how to use their affected body part through activities of daily living. For example, for lower extremity RSD / CRPS, patients may need to be taught weight bearing versus non-weight bearing exercises. Hydrotherapy in a heated pool is usually medically necessary for muscle (myofascial) pain and spasms. Application of pressure (massage) and/or moist heat applications can sometimes relieve severe muscle cramps. The physical therapist can also teach the patient how to use a TENS unit (a noninvasive electrical device that stimulates the surface of the skin). Pool therapy can be very effective for improving mobility
Thanks for consult.
Regards,
Dr,Naeem. MD
