How Can Residual Subretinol Fluid Post Surgery For PVD Be Removed?
I have subretinal fluid remaining in my eye following surgery for a PVD. Can this subretinol fluid be removed by a non-invasive technique? I was traumatised following surgery and have experienced enormous problems. Before surgery, all I had was a few flashing lights - horizontal in shape - when I was getting into bed at night and when I was turning in bed. My eyesight was perfect. But since my surgery, I have pain in my eye - a feeling that I ve got something in it - I have a cataract which I am told is a side effect of the gas bubble put into my eye during surgery, more flashing lights - though different in shape and in a different position in my eye - than I had prior to surgery and I have subretinol fluid remaining in my eye. I am much worse off following surgery and the thought of more surgery is traumatising me. The surgeon told me he couldn t get the fluid out during surgery because it was too thick. If he couldn t remove it the first time, how will he be able to remove it now? I would appreciate any advice you can give me please. Sincerely Rita Rees Standish
