Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a disorder of the nervous system that causes an urge to move the legs. Because it usually interferes with sleep, it also is considered a
sleep disorder. The cause of RLS is unknown, however, genes play a role.Symptoms may be worsened by chronic illnesses, some medications and
pregnancy.
Treatment for RLS is targeted at easing symptoms.
-In mild to moderate RLS, lifestyle changes, such as beginning a regular exercise program, establishing regular sleep patterns, and eliminating or decreasing the use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco, may be helpful.
-Other non-drug RLS treatments may include:Leg massages, Hot baths or heating pads or ice packs applied to the legs, Good sleep habits, a vibrating pad called Relaxis.
I will suggest you see a
Neurologist for evaluation and drugs if need be.Drugs that may be used for this condition may include:
*Dopaminergic drugs like Mirapex, Neupro, and Requip
*Benzodiazepines
*Narcotic pain relievers may be used for severe pain
*Anticonvulsants, or antiseizure drugs, such as Tegretol, Lyrica,
Neurontin, and Horizant.Your Doctor may help with this.
Hope this will help
Best regards
