How Can Rheumatoid Arthritis Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with ra, I was prescribed methotrexate, 7.5mg for 1st two weeks, then 10 mg. I took my first dose last Friday, no side effects except pain is 3x worse in most of my joints. How long does it take to feel change? And is this the appropriate dose?
