How Can Right Thumb And Wrist Pain Be Treated For A Thyroid Patient?

I ve recently started having pain in my thumb and wrist of my right hand. It started a slight stinging sensation like a rubber band being flicked on the back of my wrist and then began having a feeling of something sticking then popping loose and hurting like a bee sting. I m not sure if it could be arthritis or De Quervains tenosynovitis. My brother has been diagnosed with arthritis several years ago. I also have hypothyroidism which though treated has,I believe caused me joint and muscle pain in the past. How would you suggest I proceed?

Hello,

I suggest you to first get your thyroid profile to assess the status of thyroid functions.

In case there is an imbalance of thyroid hormones, I suggest you take thyroid medication to normalize the thyroid hormone profile.

Secondly, you need to consult an orthopedician to examine the wrist for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
