Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dr, I have something on my scalp that is all over but actually pops up under skin and then disappears. It is a charcoal color but when I tried to pick it with a tweezers a white tiny piece came threw skin. Im concerned and scared. The Doctor I seen did not even look at my scalp. All he did was give me a cream and sent me on my way. Please help! Thank You in advance
The infected scalp can be treated by local application of topical ointments like Nystatin or Amphotericin B. Coconut oil & Lemongrass oil are effective.
Use medicated shampoo & conditioner like Selsun or those that contain Ketoconazole, Econazole or Miconazole. Wash your hair at least twice daily & then apply coconut oil such that it reaches your scalp. Take care of your hair hygiene else you may start having hair fall.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
General & Family Physician
