How Can Sciatica Be Treated?

I just found out that I may have Sciatica. About 3 weeks ago I just bent down to pick up something from the floor and I felt a pain in my lower back, which lasted for about a week. Than I also started to get pain down the back of my left leg , and it looks like it is getting worse. It hurts less when I lay down or seat , but the pain in the leg gets horrible when I get up and start walking. Should I have it checked immideatly or should I give it another week?

Hello,

Your sciatic pain won't be so serious for you to get immediate care. To treat sciatic nerve you need to know etiology behind it. Since you say you had some trauma it could be the cause. So it will take minimum 1-2 weeks for the pain to subside.

In the meantime, Take supplement vitamin B-12 tablets as it helps the nerve growth and healing. Neurobion forte can be taken for 1 month. You can even use any painkiller if you too much pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
