How Can Sciatica In The Left Leg Be Treated?

had sciatica for months, leg (left) pain but not back pain. Couple days ago I bent down, then couldn t stand up straight with severe pain. Now pain down left leg is gone, but much pain in lower back. Should I keep heating pad on several times a day and take it easy , or see an Ortho or Chiro?

Hello,

Yes, you should definitely consult orthopaedic doctor and get done a clinical examination, X-ray and MRI of the lower lumbar spine.

If it is due to sciatica then you will need proper physiotherapy sessions for 1-2 months for complete recovery.

Oral painkiller and anti-inflammatory drugs are also given for initial days for pain relief.

If you are obese then weight reduction is a must. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
