How Can Scoliosis And Lower Backache Be Treated?

I do have scoliosis, but I walk 15 miles a day at work. Today I had to do a whole lot of digging and if u we re facing my back my lower right to mid section is excruciating pain I ve tried painfully stretching rolling on a exercise ball it hurts very bad. On a scale of 1 to 10 it s about 8 and a half. I can t pick anything up, just sitting down hurts. Even tried heating pad and icy hot just very little relief!

Hi,

Pain on your back is caused by the scoliosis of your spine. You can take:

- Anti-inflammatory drugs, as Ibuprofen twice daily, or Naproxen once daily for some weeks. If pain doesn't improve by these medications, you can try taking Tramadol but I suggest you to consult your doctor to follow this treatment

- Consult a physiotherapist, to learn exercises that are necessary for scoliosis pain relief, these are also important.

- Back brace is important, it improves your pain, by supporting your spine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
