How Can Septicemia Be Treated?

I have been hospitalized three times in recent weeks for septicemia with e-coli in the bladder and necropyleonephritis. I have followed up with an OBGYN to determine if there is any pelvic pathology. I was told I am completely clear of vaginal infections. I have now been referred to a Urologist for continued UTI s and have been on Augmentin several times outpatient. Today I had a cystoscopy which was unremarkable. The Dr. told me there is however vaginal pathology with several anti-biotic resistant bacteria growth. He is placing me on a 90 day antibiotic regimen and advises to continue with Premarin treatment of the vagina. I came very close to death on the last hospitalization for sepsis in July. I cannot at 68 afford to have continuing e-coli infections. Am I on a treatment plan as listed above that will get me to a wellness status?

Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, with repeated or severe infections of the urinary tract there is a problem in the flow of urine. There is a blockage, a connection to the bowel, a flow problem, or an outpouching.

Hope I have answered your query.
