How Can Severe Acne On The Face And Back Be Treated?
Hi Im 26 and In the past few months My face has become really spotty. I ve always had pretty good skin with only the Od spot now and then. I have also started getting large hard red painful (sometimes itchy) lumps on my back which eventually turn into spots. Another thing is, In the past 6 weeks or so I ve had 4 stye s on both my eyes. Any information would be great
The treatment of acne depends on the stage and can start with local ointments, first a combination of benzoyl peroxide with clincamycin and if this is not helpful for 8-12 weeks then isortretionin ointment can be added.
If local treatment is not helpful then oral antibiotics like doxycycline or minocycline can be added and the last resort is oral isotretinoin (which is very effective but has many possible side effects and needs good check and follow up). Meanwhile try to not poke your pimples and use an antibacterial soap to wash.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
