How Can Severe Arthritic Pain In The Hips Be Treated?

I am in severe pain from arthritis in my hip (newly diagnosed). I ve been taking advil+Tylenol and a few days of prednisone but not getting relief. I have some Hydrocodone/aceteminophen from a previous surgery. Wondering if it s safe to take. Not crazy about taking an opiod. Or do you have another suggestion?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, you can try a short course of the hydrocodone/acetaminophen to see if this works for you.

You can also consider trying a topical analgesic such as voltaren gel, if your doctor approves, to see if this helps.
Physiotherapy is also an option.

I hope this helps
