Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a neighbor that’s been on Norfco since 2003 and she takes 1 every 6 hrs and she has a right ankle fixation that she has 2rods and. 12 screws in her ankle that can’t be removed and she has sever back problems where her back disc needs to be fixed , both knees needs to be replaced , sever arthritis in legs and knees, hands & fingers she has told me 20 minutes after she takes her Norco she gets left chest pain and burning that lasts about 10 minutes stop she states that this started about 5 days ago. What can cause this discomfort.
Hi. I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you. The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of severe gastritis. NORCO (not Norfco) is a combination of Hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen. These are both pain killers. And ideally should be accompanied by an antacid. This may help resolve the symptoms. Tab Pantoprazole 40 mg twice a day, half hour before food may help.
I would also need to know all her comorbidities and medications to give a more appropriate answer.
If however, this does not afford any relief, please visit a cardiologist to rule out a possible cardiac etiology.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. Feel free to contact us for any doubts and related queries. Best wishes, Dr Mittal
