How Can Severe Back Pain Be Treated?

I have had a bad disk in my lower back. I was told I needed to be careful. But A few months ago after having to do stuff I shouldn t. My back hurt so bad I made it to bed how I don t know! But my legs and feet were .The pain in my back was bad I all so had big like knot off to the side of the bad vertebrae. I put ice on it and it went away but!!! My back hurts I can t sit for very long, stand for very long,no lifting that is for sure. If my back starts to hurt I have to hurry to bed and lay flat. My Dr. Gave me Lidocaine patches they help but it is getting worse. Both legs are going numb and some times I can t feel my feet. It is scary!!! Well it go away? Thank You Susan

Hi Welcome to healthcare magic.you are suffering from prolapse intervertibral disc . PRIMARY TREATMENT of disc prolapse is rest and analgesics but sometimes operative treatment is needed decided by MRI report.
