Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was treated for flu on Monday by the family doctor. He gave me an injection with antibiotics, flu caps and medicine for phlegm. I don t have an appetite, but I eat and drink yoghurt and water and banana. When I take medication it causes me to vomit. I have a bigger worry and that is that I have a severe lower back pain as well as my pelvic area. I m 46 years old but bending like a 84 year old when the pain hits me. Especially in the morning and when I lay down. I lay down to rest my body but I feel the pain as I lay on the bed. I feel I wan to go to the private hospital for treatment. I apologise for the long explanation. I would appreciate your advice.
I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for your severe backache for clinical evaluation, examination and MRI of the back to know the exact diagnosis so that proper management can be done. Continue treatment for flu. Take rest. Take a PPI like Omeprazole and Domperidone for vomiting, it may stop and you can continue painkillers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
