How Can Severe Cough While Suffering From Strep Throat?

I had strep throat and ear infection 4 weeks ago. Developed bronchial cough. Been coughing for 3 weeks. Doctors have found lungs, ear, throat clear twice now. Still having bad bouts of coughing. Take Tessilon Pearl and cough syrup. Unlike bronchitis, I don t cough at night. ...only the day. Bad fits of coughing....pee thru a pad type of coughing. Why during the day but not night?
