How Can Severe Earache Be Treated?

Today I went to the immediate care and the doc couldn’t see if i had a ear infection. They decided to flush my ear first, then peroxide my ear and then flush again. The last flush left me crying and in excruciating pain. It’s now been 6+ hours since my appointment and my ear is still in pain, can’t hear out of it and my face it’s sore. Should I consult with my primary doctor? Is this pain normal after a flush???

dear user

thanks for contact HCM

brief answer

this pain you feel is not normal after flushing and you should do some steps for that

detailed answer

flushing of the ear is not followed by severe pain in normal situations because there is some adverse effect of flushing that may cause injury of your inner ear or tympanoc membrane perforation ..so you should see ENT doctor to examine your ear as you may need otoscope and x ray or ct scan to role out any injury.. you can take amoxicillin and ibubrufen until examination and avoid any ear drops as it may harm more

hope that helps you
