How Can Severe Fatigue And Weight Gain Be Treated?

February 27 this year I had a meningioma removed successfully and without complications. It did take me a good four months of fairly painful recovery to get back to normal life. I became very fatigued and lethargic and gained a fair amount of weight. A recent flu virus that lasted 6 weeks has really pushed me over to feeling cronically fatigued. It feels ungrateful and lame to bring this up with the surgeon. No amoint of sleep or healthy food is helping. Is there anything I can do to help myself before going to a GP? Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you should go to GP for a check up because I suspect you may be suffering from hypothyroidism.
This may not be related to meningeoma.
I think you should do
*T3, T4, TSH to check thyroid
*do a complete blood count to check for iron deficiency anemia because it also gives fatigue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
