I have been diagnosed with Selective IgM Deficiency. I am 54 years old, and never sick until last year when I became Septic days after a routine Hernia surgery. Have been and out of the hospital 12 times in the past year with recurring Sepsis, Bacteremia, Kidney failure, Anemia, and then diagnosed with Crohn s Disease. 3 back to back 4 week periods of IV antibiotics through my arm. Sepsis came on very fast in September. It was only after begging doctors to run specialized test on me that the diagnosis was made. IgM level was less than 25, and after 1 IgG treatment it only increased to 35. I was supposed to get another treatment on 10/11/17 but was denied by my insurance because my IgG and IgA levels were normal. Have been unable to get into specialist at Cedar Sinai, UC Irvine, or UCSD. It s been 7 weeks since I received a treatment. I am very weak, dizzy, and now have bad sore throat and cold. Terrified of going back to the hospital again with Sepsis and the heavy duty drugs they give me to get rid of it. I have good insurance, so what can I do to expedite getting a treatment? I have 5 children and can t function at all, and difficult to drive because of Vertigo. Help?
