How Can Severe Hair Loss While Suffering From PCOS Be Treated?
Hi! i am a 23 year old woman suffering from PCOS. I am on oral contraceptives from last one year and recently (for abouit 1.5 months) I am facing serious hair fall. So, I started taking saw palmetto capsules combined with oral contraceptives ( as prescribed by my doctor) to combat PCOS. I also take vitamin and biotin supplements. I am highly disturbed with the losing hair. Please suggest something.
I think the hair loss is due to hormonal therapy and imbalance you are experiencing due to PCOS. First, should run a few tests to determine the cause to hair loss: - hair examination under microscope - scalp skin scrapping examination - complete blood count to rule out anemia
For the moment, I can only suggest to use nettle shampoo for your hair.
Discuss this further with your dermatologist. All the best. Dr.Albana Sejdini
