Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion the knee injury , if it continues to bother and x rays are not showing anything else apart from arthritis, Then it is better to go for MRI of the knee to assess the injury- if any meniscus or ligaments are damaged .
As far as the opposite hip pain is concerned , it might be because of overloading dur to injury knee joint. Still I would prefer to get an x ray of hip.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
