Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When I was 15 I had back surgery for kyphosis. I was fused from T1 to T12 a year after surgery I had a hardware removal. My curvature is returning and now I have developed pretty severe lordosis. Along with the lordosis I seem to have some GI issues that could be related because the onset was with the lordosis. I returned to my surgeon to be seen and he said there was nothing he could do. I completed 12 weeks of PT with no improvement. Should I get a 2nd opinion?

How Can Severe Lordosis Be Treated?
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise. * As per my surgical experience, it is the underlying nerve compression due to lordosis which is giving agony of the pain. * In case, no response from physiotherapy, I recommend - Laser therapy to targeted nerve roots through CT guidance. - Interventional pain management expert opinion after MRI evaluation of the condition. Hope this information will help you. Take care.
