How Can Severe Migraines Be Treated?

My wife has severe migraines that forces us into the ER quite frequently. Plus she takes a lot of antipsychotic medications. Her neurologist prescribed her methylprednisolone for 7 days, but the side effects are psychotic tendencies so we are concerned about taking this steroid to where it might fight with her current antipsychotic medications.
