Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there! And thank you for taking the time to read and/or answer this. :-) I have chronic migraines and receive nerveblocks on a regular basis to control the soreness in my neck and at the base of my skull. I have fairly severe chronic back pain diagnosed NOS. My physical activity is limited as I also have chronic patellar tendonopathy. I m starting to suspect that the back pain could be a result of my scoliosis which is very minor but the pain I ve been having seems to centre around the curveture. My question is: Could receiving nerveblocks in my back potentially help control the pain? If not, are there any other treatments you would recommend? Additional information (unsure whether or not it is relevant but better safe than sorry): I am on the following medications: -almotriptan -amitriptyline -dexedrine -methotrimeprazine -rizatriptan -thorazine -valium -zopiclone -zolpidem -zofran I receive the following treatments: -electroconvulsive therapy -intravenous ketamine therapy The following physical disorders run in my (immediate) family: -peripheral neuropathy -arthritis -multiple sclerosis -chronic back pain NOS -lupus Thank you for reading and my apologies for the significant length of the message haha.

How Can Severe Migraines Be Treated?
Hi, In my opinion, nerve blocks will certainly help reduce pain, if not controlled by so many medications you are taking. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Peeyush Kumar Saini, Pathologist and Microbiologist
