How Can Severe Pain And Numbness In The Arms Be Treated?
Hi there... have had severe pain in my shoulder that wakes me at night but is mild and transcient throughout the day, always accompanied with slight numbness of fingers (two middle fingers)...now the pain is more severe but in my ENTIRE arm with more intense numbness in hand. the pain is throbbing in nature an incredibly uncomfortable. thoughts?
It seems that it can be nerve compression that leading sharp shooting pain with numbness. For that, muscular reflexes checked and neurological examination done.
EMG and NCV study useful for further work up. Check your serum B12 level as well and shoulder joint x-ray done.
After examination and from reports further management plan decided. Consult an orthopedic surgeon for examination and get prescription.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
