How Can Severe Pain Due To Carotidynia Be Treated?

A few years ago I was diagnosed with carotidynia. I had no tests, just a conversation with a doctor. The pain still comes and goes, every few months and lasts about a week. The only way to get relief for the horrible pain is to take Advil (3 every 6 hrs). Is this a common issue and is there any other pain relief available?

Hello ,thanks for your question

Many cases of recurring carotidynia are due to migraine. Indometacine is often effective in treating the pain and migraine treatment may be effective.
Kind regards
