How Can Severe Pain Due To Piriformis Syndrome Be Treated?

I have piriformisis syndrome which restricts sitting and standing for very long and is very painful. How can I deal with the pain while doing exercises to help. I take pain meds but they don t help much at all. I am 72years old and cannot take ibuprofen anymore. My email is YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

It is important that you get the exercises by a physiotherapist and be followed up on time to see the progress. If there is no improvement with the exercises given by a professional and you can not use iburpofen then a local injection with steroids or anesthetics can be tried.

Also local electrical currents or botulinum injection are tried and found helpful in some patients.
If no improvement with any available methods then surgery is the last resort.
