Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have scolosis and have had rods in my back. I had the right side removed due to curving causing the rod to push through. The rods came unhooked about six months after the first major surgery in 1986. About 10 years after the rods came out it was discovered that the original fuse didn t hold. So rods were put back in. the question is I am suffering from severe pain but the worst problem is a nerve that keeps getting inflamed. In the area where a bra hooks in the back my back never stops hurting. Nerve block use to help for around a yyear sometimes a year and a half but noe it doesn t help but about 1 month. the pain starts in the bra area and it is like a bad tooth ache. as it progress it starts shootinng up and down my back. What can I do?

How Can Severe Pain Due To Scoliosis Be Managed?
Hello, Probably, it is like shooting pain. It may be due to nerve root compression. You can use Pregabalin drug twice a day for 2 weeks. If symptoms not improved, please consult your surgeon/neurosurgeon, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
